Canada and Mexico work together to eliminate a Visa requirement for Mexican visitors

Currently in Ottawa, the Canadian federal government is working in partnership with Mexico to help try and eliminate the need for Mexicans to have a Visa in order to visit Canada. However, Ottawa is only willing to do this if they are guaranteed that they won't be bombarded with more 'bogus refugee claims'

Stephen Harper was consulted with this issue, along with multiple trade and economic matters. With that being said, the federal Government's Bill C-31, which is now a law, makes it easier for Canada to deport people from countries that are seen as rather safe, which Mexico is considered to be. The Government believes that this legislation will sooner or later help get rid of the need for Mexicans to have Visas before trying to visit Canada.
